Subjects

Our lower secondary school curriculum is a blend of the Nigeria and Cambridge curriculum. It encompasses a variety of subjects including Cambridge checkpoint English, Cambridge checkpoint mathematics, Cambridge checkpoint science, Cambridge checkpoint global perspective, social studies, basic technology, business studies, home economics, cultural and creative art, French, Nigerian languages (Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba), Christian religious studies, Islamic religious studies, agricultural science, music, physical education, and health education and computer studies.

Year Group/Examination

Our year group is from 7th grade through 9th grade and around the ages of 11 to 14. This also refers to Junior Secondary School 1 to 3. Students will take the Cambridge Checkpoint Examination which enables schools to obtain an international benchmark of learner performance to identify and address learning need and serve into international high schools both home and abroad and Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) which are controlled by the National Examination Council (NECO) and the Education Resource Center (ERS) in the night grade as the qualifying exam for senior secondary school.

Examination Periods

Our lower secondary exams run through April to July for the BECE and October to November for Cambridge Checkpoint. Exam dates may vary with the periods.
